It is the end of another year so time wish you all a Happy Christmas and New Year and perhaps, particularly for some of our members to wish them better luck in 2009.
Of the three remaining names on our casualty list, Andy has finished his physiotherapy and after some five months is due to return to work before Christmas. John T has also finished physio and is now riding regularly, while Mick has been discharged by his surgeon and is increasing his exercise programme. Meanwhile Paul Kersey has been informed that now he has no trace of angina.
CLUB DINNER
The combined Wolsey Road Club and CTC Suffolk Annual Lunch and Prize Presentation will be 8th February at the Holiday Inn, London Road, Ipswich. Bookings to Maureen Nichols or Nichola Halton. Details in Diary Dates with attached booking form.
It would be nice if all the Club Trophy winners made a special effort to attend, as in the past a number of trophies have remained on the table uncollected.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING -17TH NOVEMBER
To start the meeting, Secretary Maureen Nichols read a letter from Chairman Mick Pepper offering his apologies for absence and confirming that he would not seek re-election as Chairman, whilst thanking the retiring and all past official for their work. President, Olive Forsbrook welcomed the 11 members present (three apologies received) who heard and approved reports from the General Secretary, Treasurer and Time Trial Secretary. The latter report included a list of trophy winners for the 2008 season together with time standards achieved and confirmation that three club records were broken. This compares with nine club records broken last year and is an indication of the effect that the poor summer weather and our casualty list had on the season.

EASTERN COUNTIES CA - MARSHALLING
The Club is required to supply five marshals at the 10 on the E2 on 28th March 2009. The increase in the number required this year is due to the increased Club's participation in Counties events, so will members please let Colin know if they are able to help.
EAST DISTRICT CA SHORT DISTANCE COMPETITION - 2008
Dropping the 50 mile from the competition which is now run over 4 x 10 miles and 3 x 25 miles has had the desired effect of increasing the number of participants from 33 in 2007 to 49 this year. This year's result features four Club members, Bob, 27th with 23.957 mph, John T 23.956 mph for 28th place, Roger Selmes 42nd - 21.373 mph and Maureen 17.705 mph in 49th place.
