CLUB DINNER - 8TH FEBRUARY
After a sunny but cool morning which allowed the CTC club run
to take place in fine weather, 61 members and friends of both
clubs sat down an enjoyable lunch at the Holiday Inn, Ipswich.
East London cyclist, promoter, reporter and freelance journalist
Roger St Pierre entertained us with an amusing speech to which
Paul Fenton replied in an equally able manner before Roger presented
awards to the prizewinners of both clubs.
Thanks to Club members who worked to make the event such a success,
particularly Ken, Maureen and Colin K.
CC SUDBURY RELIABILITY TRIALS - 25TH JANUARY
Barry Lee was the lone Club member who rode on a day of continuous
rain which reduced last year's field of nearly 100 to a total
of 28 riding the two distances.
Barry was one of a bunch of 11 who rode the 47 mile version on
the Semer, Stowmarket, Lavenham circuit for a well earned cup
of tea.
IPSWICH B C RELIABILITY TRIALS - 22ND FEBRUARY
Only two members tackled the event this year on a dull but fine
day with a cool nagging north west wind on an anticlockwise circuit
from Playford, visiting Hollesley, Saxmundham and Framlingham.
Jim Stow rode the 100km event, with Roger Selmes electing for
the 70km version but compensating by riding from Trimley and
back.
COLCHESTER ROVERS CC CYCLO SPORTIVE - 1ST MARCH
John Parkes and Roger collected bronze standard certificates
for their ride in the 50 mile event starting from Bromley.
A total of 78 riders enjoyed a fine day with little wind and
rode a circuit taking in Ardleigh, Manningtree, Dovercourt and
Walton.
